Direct Support Professional

Compensation: $15.00/hour (+ temp. additional $2.00/hour crisis pay)
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are people who work directly with people with physical disabilities and/or intellectual disabilities with the aim of assisting the individual to become integrated into his/her community.

  • No experience necessary as we do training internally
  • Minimum of high school diploma or demonstrated equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and be insurable
  • Experience or sincere interest in working with adults or children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities within a setting promoting community integration, normalization, and treatment of all persons with dignity and respect
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, lift, and carry at least fifty (50) pounds of weight without assistance when performing household duties, shopping, or assisting individuals served
  • Must be able to lift and/or transfer physically challenged individuals who require such assistance to remain active and mobile while engaged in household or community activities
  • To actively participate in developing and implementing plans to meet the needs of the individuals served
  • To document on proper forms all activity relative to the operation of the home or work site
  • Assist with medication management
  • To follow written behavior support strategies, including completion of all written documentation requirement
  • Basic understanding and experience with computers and programs; prior knowledge or experience with Therap preferred

Assistant Home Manager

Compensation: $33,000 – $36,000/year DOE ($41,320 – $44,320/year temp. crisis pay)
Qualifications: Previous work experience with adults and/or children which is relevant to programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; interest in working within a setting promoting community integration, normalization, and treatment of all persons with dignity and respect; some previous management experience required.

  • Able to complete all the tasks of a DSP in addition:
  • To work alongside Direct Support Professionals in developing all medical, behavioral and training plans for individuals served and in carrying out those plans
  • To act as an advocate and appropriate role model for Direct Support Professionals and individuals served
  • To supervise and train Direct Support Professionals as designated by Home Manager
  • To provide leadership, direction, and supervision to Direct Support Professionals
  • To actively participate in staff meetings, training, workshops and special meetings as required; to actively assist in program development, documentation data collection, revision and monthly, quarterly summary review of same

Home Manager

Compensation: $36,000 – $40,000/year DOE ($44,320 – $48,320/year temp. crisis pay)
Qualifications: Previous work experience with adults and/or children which is relevant to programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; interest in working within a setting promoting community integration, normalization, and treatment of all persons with dignity and respect; have basic skills in administration and operation of specialized programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; some previous management experience required.

  • Able to complete all the tasks of a DSP and Assistant Manager in addition:
  • To provide regular, documented, and specific feedback about performance to Direct Support Professionals both positive and critical
  • To maintain current and complete employee files
  • To consistently implement Company personnel policies
  • To establish a sound and properly structured bi-weekly staff schedule consistent with contracted hours for the home, with attention to twenty-four (24) hour coverage, staff/consumer ratios, overtime, special staffing requirements
  • To listen and respond to concerns expressed by home and other staff members
  • To communicate information to all Direct Support Professionals members on a regular basis and as needed in a clear, concise, understandable manner
  • To monitor Direct Support Professionals for the daily scheduling and implementation of active treatment programs
  • To provide a safe, healthy, clean, and attractive home environment
  • To provide leadership, direction, and supervision to Direct Support Professionals
  • To actively participate in staff meetings, training, workshops and special meetings as required; to actively assist in program development, documentation data collection, revision and monthly, quarterly summary review of same

Program Manager

Compensation: $50,000 – $56,000/year DOE

(HIRING BONUS: $300 1st paycheck following New Hire Orientation, $300 after three (3) months, $400 after six (6) months)

Responsibilities: Direct supervision of six (6) 24-Hour Residential Programs supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Working with all members of the Individual Support Plan team in all aspects of Consumer support needs. Providing personnel supervision of the Managers and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for the locations assigned, including but not limited to, hiring and discharging with Executive Director approval; responsible for ensuring program compliance in keeping with agency personnel and operational policies; employee in-service training; and ensuring proper staffing coverage. Financial Management of agency and consumer funds; monitoring of the care and implementation of Individual Services Plans for nineteen (19) residential consumers. Most possess a sincere interest in working for an agency that promotes and supports advocacy, individually driven services, community inclusion, and ensures the treatment of all persons and families with dignity and respect. Skills in administration and operation of specialized programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences or related field + 3 years of I/DD group home management experience or 6 years of managing homes supporting individuals with I/DD.
  • Operation and overall supervision of 6 Residential Programs supporting 19 individuals.
  • Experience with development and implementation of support plans, and Oregon’s ISP process.
  • Knowledge of OAR’s pertaining to 24-Hour services for adults.
  • Hiring and discharging, training and supervision of staff.
  • A strong commitment to providing advocacy and quality supports.
  • Must have strong leadership skills, be organized and dedicated to program implementation.
